"We had asked around on the mountain about names or builders to build this house of our dreams. One name always came up: Hacking Construction. With the help of a draftsman and an engineer we had a set of working plans. Jim Hacking helped us through this process and then he left for Missouri to run a mission project for the church. To say that we were nervous about Jim’s leaving is putting it mildly. He was the guy we knew…the one we had worked with and felt comfortable having build our house. We talked to people who had used Hacking Construction, and they all said that we were in good hands with Doug Seale. He was always the man to do the actual building part. We felt better and thus began our real journey with Doug as our guide and fearless leader!
Our house is complete and better than we ever dreamed. Doug kept us up-to-date with photos, numerous very late night emails and more phone calls than you can imagine. Pete and I both looked forward to hearing from him. We both feel that no one else could have done a better job and built us a better house. It is the house of our dreams and Doug made it a reality.
The big surprise that came out of this building project was that we built a house, but we also built a new friendship. Doug, Carolyn, Brett, Lance, Kelly and their entire family are now an important part of our lives. I don’t know many people who can say this about their builder. This is because Doug and his crew take their jobs very seriously. Each project matters to them as if it were there own house. We will be forever grateful for their hard work and for our beautiful house and we will be grateful for new friends."

"My husband and I always wanted to build a home that we had designed. We watched others go through the process of building and saw the positive and negative sides of the process. When my brother and sister-in-law built their home they spoke very highly of their experience with Hacking Construction. After carefully picking a lot and having the plan drawn up we had the job bid out. After meeting with a few different builders, we still felt good building with Hacking Construction, even after Jim Hacking explained to us that he was retiring and selling his company to Doug Seale. Knowing the kind of man that Jim is we knew he would not sell his company and his name to a man that wasn't going to build with the same skill and integrity.
We had a great time building with Doug. The bid he gave us was the amount we paid; that is usually the number one complaint you hear when it comes to building. As far as the craftsmanship of our home, I have complete confidence that my house will stand the test of time. It was build solid and beautifully.
Whenever I would come to the job sight Doug or his son Brett were usually there. I could always get a hold of them if I had any questions or concerns.Since I had no experience building a house I asked for a lot of advice. They always took the time to listen and they always had good ideas. the subs were great too, each talented in their own area of expertise. Doug said at the beginning of the building process that his goal was to be friends when it was done. My husband I can say without hesitation we consider him a great friend. We would build with him again in a heartbeat."
